re-inventing the wheel: 多此一舉

美國人常用的一個俗語：re-inventing the wheel。

Invent這個字的意思是：創造、發明。Re-inventing就是：重新發明。

Re-inventing the wheel從字面上來解釋就是：重新發明輪子。

但是，既然輪子早就存在，再要發明不是多此一舉嗎?

作為俗語，Re-inventing the wheel是指某個人認為自己想到了一個非常好的新主意，但是實際上這個主意別人早就想到，而且已經實施了。 

例句-: “Look, don’t try to design your own computer system for handling our accounts. There are plenty of good systems already on the market, so let’s not reinvent the wheel!”

這個老板說：“我說呀，不要為管理我們的帳目設計你自己的電腦程序。市場上已經有不少好的程序，所以我們不必多此一舉啦。”
