① 可搭配some（有些）、great（非常）、little（幾乎沒有）等字詞來修飾困難程度。

Katie had some trouble locating the restaurant because it wasn't on Google Maps.

因為那間餐廳沒有在Google地圖上，凱蒂很難找到它的位置。

② 可在problem、trouble 和 difficulty前搭配no表示「做…沒有困難」。

Andrew has no problem swimming in the rough ocean.

③ a hard time 則通常以單數可數名詞形式呈現。

Helen has a hard time waking up in the morning, so she sets three alarm clocks.
