(III) Instructional Design (20%)
DAAN Vocational High School frequently organizes international exchange programs. However, a significant challenge arises from the diverse English proficiency levels among students, ranging from CEFR A2 to B2.
Task: Design a 50-minute lesson plan for an on-campus exchange activity involving 30 students (15 international and 15 DAAN students). The primary goals are to introduce DAAN Vocational High School to the visitors, foster inclusivity for all proficiency levels, and enhance students' oral communication skills.
Your lesson plan must include the following components:
● Learning objectives
● Activity description
● Implementation procedures

1. Rewrite the text into a passage around 200 words. (12%)

2. Based on your passage, design four cloze questions for B1-level students. Indicate blanks with underlines, provide four options per item (including three distractors), and attach an answer key. (8%)

1. Three multiple-choice questions (Each has four options, including three distractors) (6%).

2. Two mixed-type questions consistent with the GSAT's focus on competency-based evaluation. (4%).

(IV) English-to-Chinese Translation (10%)       The relationship between the two countries is a hugely important economic relationship. There is no question that the level of friction around the trade discussion has been escalating. And in the context of that, that’s leading to some uncertainty and some question about where this will all go. Obviously hard to predict at this point—market participants are watching it very closely. To the degree that it escalated more significantly, it would be bad for both countries. So our hope would be that the rhetoric gets put aside, and over time here, there’s a constructive solution that’s worked through. We’ll have to wait to see how it all plays out.

III. Discourse Teaching Strategies        從高中職英文課開始，篇章結構(discourse)的理解與學習更形重要，例如一個段落中，句子間的連結可以透過代名 詞、定冠詞、指示詞甚至同義字或反義字等的使用，使得句與句間有更緊密的語法關聯性(cohesion)與語意連貫性 (coherence)。閱讀段落時，除了應該理解其體裁及主題外，也應該能判斷主題句及總結句，分析段落發展模式，進而學 習如何有條理地鋪陳文章，以確保整個段落的關聯性與連貫性。       根據以上 108 課綱英文科領綱對篇章(discourse)學習的說明，請寫一篇 250 個字以上的英文文章，實際說明該如何 將篇章教學應用到高中職英文科閱讀及詞彙教學，並用以下關於 gender equality 的文本來進行閱讀及詞彙教學說明。        Over the past century, women have gained important rights, including voting, equal pay, and protection from discrimination. However, despite progress, gender inequality still exists in many aspects of society. Women continue to face challenges related to stereotypes, expectations, and unequal opportunities.       One key issue is confidence and social expectations. Laura Deller, a teacher and DIY influencer, highlights how girls are often discouraged from entering fields traditionally associated with men, such as construction or engineering. Through workshops, she encourages young women to develop practical skills and overcome limiting beliefs. Many girls feel empowered when given these opportunities, yet stereotypes continue to influence their choices.       In education, gender differences are still visible. Female students remain underrepresented in subjects like physics and engineering. Some girls hesitate to choose these fields because they expect male-dominated classrooms. Additionally, classroom dynamics may disadvantage quieter students, leading some girls to feel pressure to prove themselves through higher academic performance.       Beyond education, gender roles also affect family life. Many women experience the “mental load” of managing household responsibilities and childcare. Even in supportive families, mothers are often seen as the primary caregivers. While some fathers take parental leave and share responsibilities, financial constraints and workplace policies can limit their involvement.       In professional settings, women may also encounter bias and self-doubt. Leadership roles are still often associated with men, and women may experience “imposter syndrome.” Furthermore, behaviors such as assertiveness can be judged differently depending on gender.       Although progress has been made, achieving true gender equality requires continued effort. Addressing stereotypes, promoting equal opportunities, and supporting shared responsibilities at home and work are essential steps toward a more balanced society
