An additional factor that may affect the nature of the relationship between the client

and the examiner is the client's relative emotional state. It is particularly important to

assess the degree of the client's motivation and his or her overall level of anxiety.

There may be times in which it would be advisable to discontinue testing because

situational emotional states may significantly influence the results of the tests.

At the very least, examiners should consider the possible effects of emotional factors

and incorporate these in to their interpretations.
