comparing 是現在分詞，出現的分句放在句首的時，後面的句子的主語和分句的主語必須一致。

而如果句子是 (A)Comparing with the driving habits of the two groups of drivers,  the researcher hopes to find out ways to enhance road safety.

雖然感覺上，前面的comparing with由研究員去比較兩種開車習慣，但是，後面那句 the reseacher hopes... 不是在講被比較的事物，被比較的事物應為兩族群駕駛的開車習慣，而不是又再說另一件事(the reseacher hopes to find out ways..)。
