The Maryland Assessment of Social Competence (MASC) (Bellack et al., 1994), a measure of subjects' ability to solve common problems in an interpersonal context, consists of four 3-min role play scenarios, including one involving initiating conversation with a casual acquaintance, two involving negotiation and compromise, and one involving standing up for one's rights.
