On August 2, an Air France jet crashed on landing at Toronto's Pearson International Airport.

Fortunately, a tragedy was averted避免(avert的過去分詞) and all 309 passengers and crew members escaped.

While the investigation(尤指為揭開真相)調查 is still underway, safety officials have credited表揚, 讚揚 fire-resistant抗拒 materials in the plane as a key factor in preventing loss of life.
