• The histologic lesions of Addison’s disease are lymphoplasmacytic adrenalitis and severe lytic destruction of all three layers of the adrenal cortex.
• 少數的狗，the zona glomerulosa (球狀帶分泌礦皮質固醇)is at least partially spared(幸免於難); these dogs may have normal serum concentrations of sodium and potassium.
• Without mineralocorticoid and glucocorticoid replacement therapy, destruction of the adrenal cortices is fatal. However, treated dogs can live with Addison’s disease for years
