   When I was young, I __1__ went out to play with my father. On our way back home he would buy me ice cream. Each time he would ask me if I wanted ice cream and when I said yes, he gave me twenty cents to buy two ice cream cones, one for him and one for me. On one __2__ day, however, things went differently. 

    As usual, he asked, "Do you want some ice cream?" and I answered, "Sounds great!" I did not __3__ what he said next, "I think it sounds great too. How about you treat __4__?" 

    I was __5__. It wasn't too much money, but I was trying to save, just like my father always told me to. Ice cream simply didn't seem like a good thing to spend my money __6__. I realized too late that I missed a great opportunity to give back to my __7__ father. My father had treated me to hundreds of ten-cent ice cream cones, sometimes even fifty-cent ice cream cones, but I was too __8__ to spend ten cents to buy him just one ice cream cone. And so, in a __9__ of ingratitude, I said these awful words which still ring in my ears, "In that __10__ I think I'll skip it this time."
