Over the last two decades, the bureau has endeavored to stage the festival in cities and counties across the island. This year the southwestern city of Chiayi is expecting huge crowds today for this big event. This year’s main lantern features a tiger leaping over a rainbow- like bridge, carrying the meaning “Blessing Arrives in the Treasure Island.” It’s estimated that US$10 billion a year has been spent on new construction in Berlin, a remade city, since reunification. Commercial urban development projects now occupy the area where the Wall stood. The eye-popping commercial projects give Berlin its dynamic new lifestyle. Moreover, new cultures, arts, sports, shopping and popular entertainment venues supplement traditional attractions.
