from the International Standards Organization is a must-have. Toxic materials such as
lead, mercury and other heavy metals are used liberally in electronic devices, and
burying them in landfills poses a future hazard if the metals leak into groundwater.
While European countries have stringent recycling regulations, government mandates
in the United States are less demanding. In America, large corporations are at the
