 Consider your undergraduate education, the courses you studied in university, and any type of work experience, internships or volunteer work or specific projects or cvents that you have participated in in the past. How do you think you will be able to draw on your university education, work expcriencc, internships or volunteer work, and/or experience with project design and implementation to study about creative culture and/or business communication at the graduate level? In an essay discuss your motivation for wanting to study in this graduate program, and your essay should include an introduction, well developed paragraphs, and a conclusion.

Essay #2 According to cultural theorists like Theodore Singelis, Michael H. Bond, and William F. Sharkey,there are two types of culture: that which resides inside individuals and that which resides outsidethem.The first type of culture is what Harry C. Triandis and Geert Hofstede refer to as subjective culture,which refers to the beliefs, values, norms, and behavioral etiquette of a particular group of people.Objective culture, on the other hand, is created by individual persons and resides outside them. Artobjects, clothing, work instruments, institutions (i.e. marriage system) or political and religious bodiesconstitute cultural products.Choose a cultural product, such as a work of literature, a film or a play, an art object, an institution, a ritual, a song, a fashion trend, work instruments, architectural design and innovations, or a political movement or faith community. In an essay, discuss how cultural idcas, knowledge, and/or meaning are reflected by the cultural product that you chose to discuss.

Essay #1 Too many English majors doubt their college major choice, and too many would-be English majors are choosing other majors because "you can't make any money with an English degree," "there aren't any jobs," "I don't want to teach," etc. The misconceptions and negative stereotypes that surround the degree itself and what an English degree can do for your future go on and on, but they can be changed! Do you agree?In your experience, what is the most common misconception or stereotype about English majors? How do you defend English majors? What are some of the excellent reasons to ignore the pressure from parents and employers and go for the humanities?
