Advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation will transform our world. A two-year study from McKinsey Global Institute suggests that by 2030, intelligent agents and robots could eliminate as much as 30 percent of the world's human labor. Despite the fears and concerns, some people remain optimistic, believing that when particular tasks are automated, more human workers would be required for other functions in the process. In fact, optimists argue that AI and automation can free human beings to pursue careers that give us a greater sense of meaning and well-being. Some even expect AI and automation to help eliminate disease and world poverty.
Write a well-structured essay of about 200-300 words to express your thoughts on the impact of Al and automation. Your essay may include, but is not limited to, answers to the following questions: do you agree with the optimists' arguments mentioned above? Why or why not? According to you, what types of task would be eliminated and what new jobs would be created? Also, what could we do in education to help people adapt to a world of AI and automation?
