It is not simply of biological or psychological “drives” or of genetic imprinting .The most important sexual organ is between our ears….power operates sybtly through a complex series of interlocking practices. As a result political challenges to oppressive forms are complex and sometimes contradictory. Sexual politics therefor can never be a single from of activity…Instead of seeing sexuality as a unified whole,we have to recognize that there are various froms of sexuality:there are infact many sexualities. There are class sexualities,and gender –specific sexualities,and there are racialized sexualities and there are sexualities of struggle and choic.The ‘invention of sexuality” was not a single event,now lost in a distant past. It is a continuing process in which we are simultaneously acted upon and actors,objects of change,and its subjects.
