12. Methanol is an important industrial solvent and fuel. It can be produced from carbon monoxide and hydrogen according to the following equation:
CO(g) + 2H2(g) ⇌ CH3OH(g) ΔH = −91 kJ

(b) The effect of different catalysts on this reaction is investigated using the following apparatus:

  A contains 1 mole of carbon monoxide and B contains 2 moles of hydrogen. The gases in both containers at the same temperature and pressure. The tap is closed at the start of the experiment.
Calculate the value for Kc if the maximum yield of methanol is 85%. (3 points)
