Part B. 40 points. Answer two (2) of the following essay questions. Write an essay on each of the three essay questions of your choice. Each essay should be at least 20 sentences, but an essay that is longer than 20 sentences will not necessarily earn you a better score, as you are being assessed on the quality of your ideas as well as on your ability to express ideas in a clear and precise fashion. You will not receive extra credit for writing more than two essays. If you choose to write more than two essays, your grader will evaluate the first two essays written in your answer book.

(2). Discuss at least two (2) but no more than four (4) works of British literature that have shaped your imagination of Britain as an historical place. Name and discuss these works. How have they shaped and informed your ideas about Britain? How do these works express British identity to you and construct Britain as an historical place? Explain with concrete and specific references to the texts.
