In Japan, there is one store that owns a robot which will ensure every customer is wearing mask properly. It can distinguish the ones without masks on their face, and politely ask them to put masks on. It also interfere itself in if people fail to comply with social distancing rules when queuing for checkout. For most people, it's less embarassing that a robot request them to put on a mask than that of a person.

If people don’t obey the social distancing when they are getting in line to check out items, it can get into it. To most people, a robot asks them to wear a mask is less awkward to be asked by a human.
