 “New Normal” was originally a term in business and economics that referred to financial conditions following the financial crisis in 2007, or the global recession after 2008. Now the term may be used in a variety of other contexts to imply that something which was previously abnormal has become commonplace. For example, with the outbreak of COVID-19, shaky economy and social distancing will continue being our new normal unless we are able to find a cure or vaccine, adapt to the virus or develop herd immunity.
