100 5-10%的生殖年齡婦女會受到多囊性卵巢囊腫（polycystic ovary）症候群的困擾，多囊性卵巢囊腫的診斷經 2003 年專家共識，需有三診斷條件（diagnostic criteria）中符合兩項，下列那一項非其診斷條件之一： (A)Glucose intolerance (B)Polycystic ovaries and exclusion of other etiologies（congenital adrenal hyperplasia, androgen-secreting tumor, Cushing’s syndrome） (C)Clinical and/or biochemical signs of hyperandrogenism (D)Oligoovulation or anovulation
