In north end of Taiwan, we have this Keelung port which has her opening facing to NW direction. In summer time, there is no problem for normal inbound and outbound traffic when the port is well sheltered by main island. However, in winter time it will have strong monsoon coming from NE together with swell and current which are exactly 90 degrees to inbound vessel's direction and consist of a great challenge to captain of small pilot boat and inbound vessel.
